I get asked all the time, “Where do you get your wood?” 

I have a few places I collect wood from, for my lumber I generally get it from Hughes Hardwood in Rancho Cardova, Ca. They have a huge selection of wood species and sizes. I also pick up wood from Rockler or a few stores online. 

For my bowls I like to SLAM on my brakes and quickly pull over and snag wood from the side of the road. I also coordinate with homeowners who are taking down their trees, once they’ve cut it down I will take some of the wood off their hands. 

I currently have several species of wood drying in our yard or shed. While I’m constantly being told I have enough I’m always looking for more!
