Owning your own business is a huge risk, it’s a struggle but it can be the absolute best thing to happen to you. Surround yourself with other small businesses, EVEN if they are in the same industry as you. I can not say this enough, “Community OVER Competition!” Yes you may make the same thing but chances are each person has their own style, their own way of doing things, the outcome will almost always come out different. Trust me your need these people in your corner.
 

Why? You will always have people trying to put you down, those are the people you don’t need to surround you. 
Will it hurt? Absolutely! Especially when it comes from someone close. Take what they say and use it to push you even further. Make that item you’ve been on the fence about. Not sure if you really need that tool? Get it! 
Why do they do it? Who knows! All that matters is you. Are you happy doing what you’re doing? Do you want to continue doing what you’re doing?
